Bexley Beaumont Eyes Further Capital Gains with Double Partner Hire

Bexley Beaumont has described the appointment of its latest London-based lawyers as a statement of intent of its ambition for growth in the capital.

Commercial lawyer Gavin Nathanson and Commercial Real Estate specialist Ebru Yürük both join as partners.

They take Bexley Beaumont's partner count in London to 17. Their arrival follows the firm's topping an independent ranking of the UK's top 200 legal practices' performance on recruitment last year.

Chief Executive Karen Bexley said that they illustrate Bexley Beaumont's determination to be regarded as the fee share firm of choice for lawyers and clients both in London and the rest of the country.

"Gavin and Ebru are both very talented and have amassed a great wealth of experience working with and for companies across a broad range of issues."

"They are further valuable additions to our collective capabilities and an indication of the kind of strength in depth which is attracting an ever larger client roster."

"We are very much committed to developing in London and elsewhere by attracting capable lawyers in order to realise our full potential."

"Those elements have been instrumental in the substantial progress which we have made in relatively few years since opening."

"We believe that they leave us extremely well-placed to capitalise on that strategy into the future."

Prior to the start of his career in the legal profession, Mr Nathanson spent more than a decade working in the electronics industry.

He also worked for a large US firm before occupying two General Counsel positions in the financial services industry.

Mr Nathanson has advised both start-ups and corporates on a wide spectrum of topics, including the protection of data and intellectual property rights, mergers and acquisition activity, and supply arrangements.

Since specialising in Commercial Real Estate, Ms Yürük has handled a large variety of transactions including refinancing, leases, sales and licences on behalf of landlords, developers based in the UK and overseas.

Ms Bexley outlined how the skills of both Mr Nathanson and Ms Yürük rounded out those already generating an increasing caseload for Bexley Beaumont in London.

The firm's other partners in London are specialists in corporate and commercial work, intellectual property, residential and commercial real estate, dispute resolution, employment, construction and private wealth management.

Its appeal across the legal industry was made even more apparent by an independent study conducted by Codex Edge last year.

Although many law firms struggled to attract talent during 2023, the research concluded that the partner ranks of Bexley Beaumont had grown by 27 per cent in just a year.

Over those 12 months, Bexley Beaumont appointed 21 partners across a breadth of specialisms and now has 54 Partners and five Associate Solicitors.

The firm's achievements have seen it claim a succession of important legal industry titles - most recently being named as the Law Firm of the Year at the Modern Law Awards last month.

The Awards, which are in their tenth year, were established to celebrate "excellence and innovation within the legal industry".

All five of the firms shortlisted had to demonstrate substantial progress over the course of the last 12 months in terms of "strategy, growth, financial performance, employee development, diversity and training".
