Vibrant Bexley Beaumont has increased its Midlands operations with the recruitment of another senior lawyer.
Corporate law specialist Phil Miles has joined the firm as Legal Director just days after it claimed a prestigious national award.
He becomes the fifth member of Bexley Beamont's Corporate team in Birmingham and the 12th fee earner across all legal disciplines which it has appointed in the 'heart of England' region.
Mr Miles' arrival coincides with Bexley Beaumont's pipping much larger and longer established practices to the Law Firm of the Year title at the Modern Law Awards - the second notable prize which it has scooped in the space of the last 12 months.
The firm also made waves in December by topping a ranking of the UK's fastest growing top 200 law firms despite only launching four years ago.
Chief Executive Karen Bexley said that Mr Miles provided further evidence of the calibre of Bexley Beaumont's support for the Midlands' business community.
She added that he demonstrated how its emphasis on "quality and team culture" had proven so attractive to many of the region's most experienced lawyers.
"Phil is both experienced and very talented, and has developed a glowing reputation from his role advising owner-managed businesses in particular on a wide range of corporate and business law issues."
"Over the course of the last year or so, we have seen an increase in the caseload which we have handled on behalf of clients in the Midlands."
"That is due to the strength in depth which we possess across the full spectrum of corporate and commercial law."
"We have succeeded in attracting very capable lawyers like Phil because they recognise how distinctive the team culture within our business is and how the collaboration between our colleagues enables them to deliver the best quality work possible for clients."
"We believe that they leave us extremely well-placed to make more headway in the Midlands and elsewhere into the future."
Having qualified at the international firm DLA Piper, Mr Miles has since been involved in a large volume of corporate transactions, including sales, acquisitions and company restructuring, during spells with a number of familiar legal brands.
The firm's other Midlands lawyers specialise in corporate and commercial work, intellectual property, residential and commercial real estate, dispute resolution, employment, construction and private wealth management.
In all, Bexley Beaumont now has 54 Partners and five Associate Solicitors despite only opening its doors in 2020.
Its appeal across the legal industry was made even more apparent by an independent study conducted by Codex Edge last year.
Although many law firms struggled to attract talent during 2023, the research concluded that the partner ranks of Bexley Beaumont had grown by 27 per cent in just a year.
Bexley Beaumont's achievements have seen it claim a succession of important legal industry awards - most recently, the Law Firm of the Year Award at the Modern Law Awards earlier this month.
The Awards, which are in their tenth year, were established to celebrate "excellence and innovation within the legal industry".
All five of the firms shortlisted had to demonstrate substantial progress over the course of the last 12 months in terms of "strategy, growth, financial performance, employee development, diversity and training".
