Emily Carey is a Commercial Real Estate Partner with over 35 years PQE, working both in-house and in private practice in the UK, London, and France. Emily advises the full range of property clients; landlords, tenants, SMEs, multi-nationals, landowners, private individuals and HNW families.

Commercial Property has always been and continues to be her field of choice; informed and broadened by her experience outside that field with time spent on commercial acquisitions and corporate compliance, Nasdaq and Euronext listings, software licensing and share options. Emily combines this wide-ranging expertise gained in-house and in private practice with a common-sense, problem-solving approach, to address non-contentious real estate questions which may arise, whilst maintaining a holistic view of the ongoing matter.

Emily enjoys building strong client relationships and particularly relishes the opportunity to meet clients and visit their sites to gain a better understanding of potential issues.

Mindful that for many of her clients, Commercial Real Estate is not their day job, Emily ensures that she has a clear understanding of the desired outcomes and gives plain English explanations of the inevitable complexities. All clients need timely, efficient advice which addresses the issues important to them.

Emily is business focussed and enjoys working in teams. She can collaborate seamlessly with other professionals in your team, from surveyors and accountants to fellow lawyers with specialist expertise, all of which can be critical to a successful outcome.

• Supported Living Charity - setting up the legal framework for their property portfolio
• Medical practices
• Insolvency practitioners
• Landlord of a privately owned shopping precinct including a complex transaction for a major supermarket discounter
• For multi-nationals, a new custom-built conditioned warehouse in the DP World London Gateway complex and a complex sale of part of large riverside site with sale, option and pre-emption

Outside of the office, among other things, Emily plays badminton and is discovering music festivals.
