James qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and was previously a partner in a boutique commercial practice in the West End and has held senior positions in-house. He has particular expertise in internet infrastructure, e-commerce, and AI.

On qualifying as a solicitor, he joined a fast-growing data centre company before returning to private practice as a consultant to a boutique commercial practice and then moving to London to take up a role as partner, where he spent a further ten years advising data centre and sub-sea fibre companies, commercial property companies, retailers and e-commerce enterprises.

James has held senior positions with a major film studio and a multinational professional technology services company.
